MARY

Biblical typology

2 Samuel 6:9

How shall the Ark come to me?

9 And David was afraid of the Lord that day, saying: How shall the ark of the Lord come to me?

Douay–Rheims · Challoner revision · 2 Kings 6:9

Why this matters

David asks how the Ark of the Lord can come to him. Elizabeth’s question about the mother of her Lord in Luke 1:43 invites a narrative parallel. Neither text explicitly equates Mary with the Ark.
