MARY

Broader theological connection

James 5:16

The prayer of the righteous

16 Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much.

Douay–Rheims · Challoner revision · James 5:16

Why this matters

The passage encourages confession and mutual prayer and speaks of effective righteous prayer. Applying this to Mary’s intercession requires additional theological premises; the verse alone does not prove it.
